Do you prefer a Realtor who seeks creative housing solutions to meet your needs or one who strictly adheres to your preferences for housing? e.g. You tell the Realtor you are interested in a traditional home with three bedrooms and a large yard for your dog. He finds a 3 bedroom, two-story colonial, with a small yard that is just down the street from a great dog park. Do you want to know about that one? Before selecting a Realtor, you should choose two or three and meet with them after describing your housing needs. Their initial presentation of homes will give you a pretty good idea of their work ethic and whether they are working to find you the best solution or just hunting an easy payday. Don't overlook chemistry - it will affect communication between the parties. Ask if they have a good relationship with a mortgage lender. Best Realtor in my opinion is one who is focused on providing excellent service. In my opinion, those who work by referral, are held accountable not only by their clients but by those who refer them.
