I need help planning which airlines to take for my European vacation?
November 2011, I'm going to Europe and here is how it will work Raleigh/Durham - London, England London, England - Berlin, Germany Berlin, Germany - Naples, Italy Naples, Italy - Raleigh/Durham What is the cheapest airline? I'm just starting to plan on my trip and expedia sucks. Thank you in advance It doesn't matter which airport. That's why I didn't give the airport codes. I want to go with whatever is cheapest Rolla Fan- It would also have been nice if you gave me all the websites that you used. Thanks.

1 :Cheaper option is this, a return Raleigh- London,London Raleigh, then the middle bit i am sure a budget airline within Europe, Easyjet for example will cover the Europe leg of your journey, most countries have their own low cost carrier.

2 :Hey, at least you could provide us with some airport codes of the destinations which you desire to travel... Anyways, airport codes are Raleigh/Durham (RDU) London, England (I'm guessing you mean Heathrow, which is LHR) Berlin, Germany (Tegel - TXL) Naples, Italy (NAP) From RDU to LHR, it costs about $850 with 2 stops. LHR to TXL, it's $100 TOPS, because of short distance TXL to NAP, it's about $450, using Brussel airline NAP to RDU, it's about $1600, with 2 stops. So, you will end up spending anywhere between $3000 ~ $5000 depending on which website you look into. Make sure you double check with the airlines' website as they do have the lowest fare quite often than the third party websites such as Expedia. Also, I would like to advise you to take advantage of having mileage membership (particularly Star Alliance, which is an enrollment mileage program for various airlines) and you will end up flying with many other lines due to the fact that you are looking for the cheapest option and it will drag you down quite easily...
3 :Best way on Expedia is to book it as a multi-leg trip. The airline I would look closely at would be US Airways, Continental, Delta, and American Airlines. Also I suspect if you want to do this as cheap as possible then you may want to consider flying out of Rome or Milan instead of Naples. Along with that consideration you may want to look at taking the train or bus between Berlin and Naples due to the fact there may be limited flight service between the two cities. With that said, there are a few options from London to Berlin such as British Airways, Lufthansa, Easy Jet, and Air Berlin. The latter two are budget airlines that typically do not show up on websites like Expedia. Then from Berlin to Naples the most likely you will need to consider Lufthansa or Air Berlin.
4 :I would actually go to a travel agent and see what kind of pricing they can get you for this trip. Another suggestion I have is that I know American Airlines has a non-stop flight from Raleigh/Durham to London. I would see if Air Berlin does London to Berlin and onto Naples. If you can buy a round-trip ticket on Air Berlin from London to Naples and do a stopover in Berlin, the ticket should not be too much more. Then you can fly American back from London to Raleigh/Durham.

What's it like to work at Central Prison in Raleigh, NC?
I am looking into getting a job at Central Prison in Raleigh, NC. I was wondering if anyone had experience working either at Central Prison or even a prison in general. I want to know what its like to work there as a Correctional Officer, like what do you deal with on a daily basis and general information like that.

I work in a female unit of 50 women. I am not an Officer, but i work with the Officers. Being a correctional officer is no easy task, wherever you work. Your safety is a concern. There are some very dangerous, violent people who will resent you for breathing. Wear gloves!!! Lots of STDs , HIV , Hepatitis C etc. Make sure your hep. shots are up to date. I am kind to them , but I never trust them or turn my back. Some Officers are abusive and demeaning. They have the most problems. You'll have to choose your style.

I worked for 23 years in the New York State Department of Correctional Services. My first posting was at Sing-Sing-Prison a Maximum Security prison. We had 1,800 inmates in 1970. The most dangerous time is usually meal time. There were three mess halls which accommodated the entire population except for the Special Housing unit. The Death House was closed at that time. We had inmate head counts about six per tour of duty. We broke up fights, responded to large disturbances, wrote reports etc. There was a riot in the yard. It started at 11:00am. We got out of work at 11:00pm that night after frisking not only the inmates but the housing units as well. September 1971, responded to Attica Prison Riot. 43 people were killed. I then transferred to Downstate C.F. which was reception and classification. I made Sergeant after 7 years at Sing-Sing. Worked at Downstate for a number of years as Asst. Watch Commander then was promoted to Lieutenant and transferred up state near the Canadian Border. I was Watch Commander, Disciplinary Lieutenant, and did investigations of Correction Officers who violated established rules and regulations of the department. I met some very good friends in the Department. I retired in 1993. My education was college. My son is a Police Detective in New York.
