Are there any animal shelters in or near Raleigh, NC that allow 13-year-olds to volunteer?
I am 13 years old and I live in Raleigh, North Carolina. I want to volunteer at an animal shelter, but the Wake County Humane Society does not have a good program for teens under 15. I don't want to wait 2 more years until I can volunteer... I find myself qualified to work with animals, and I want experience for the job I plan to have in the future. (veterinarian, zoologist, etc.)

Try contacting the United Way Volunttary Action Center at 2 Hannover Sq Raleigh, NC 27601-1764 (919) 834-5200. They should be able to match you up with animal-related causes seeking volunteers, taking your age into account.
